While which game you choose will be based entirely upon personal preference, there are some things that every person looking to buy an arcade game should know.

Cabinet Types

The four main types of arcade cabinets are upright, cabaret, cocktail, and sitdown. Upright models have the classic design that people normally associate with arcade games and typically have 25 inch screens. They feature the game screen positioned at roughly eye level at standing position, with the joystick and buttons situated on a ledge immediately below it.

Cabaret models are smaller, shorter, have 19 inch screens positioned at an angle. This is the most common size found is home game rooms and is perfect for those concerned about space.

Cocktail models were popularized by bars that wanted arcade games to double as tables. They are meant to be played while sitting and feature the screen in the center of the table with two sets on controls positioned on either side. Despite this, most classic multiplayer games don't allow for two players to play simultaneously. Rather, the players usually take turns and the screen simply "flips" whenever a turn is complete. Coin Operation

With the exception of the Arcade Legends, every arcade game we offer has or can have a coin mechanism. In most games, how many quarters that are required to earn a play credit is determined by the game's operator. However, even coin op games can be set to "free play," where no money is required to earn play credits.

Wattage

Be certain that the game you are interested in is compatible with your home's 110V electrical outlets. There are few things more frustrating than to make a big investment in an arcade game only to discover you'll need to call (and pay for) an electrician before you can plug it in. To avoid this kind of situation, every game offered at Dazadi is designed to plug into a standard three pronged 110V electrical outlet.

Why No Used Games?

As you may have noticed, at Dazadi we only sell factory fresh new games. This is because we stand behind every arcade game we sell, and used games, no matter how thoroughly "refurbished," are notoriously buggy and defective. We have heard too many horror stories about "restored" games to feel comfortable selling them to our valued customers. People who are looking to buy an arcade cabinet should be especially wary of retailers that try to push "like new" arcade games, as they often are severely overhauled with unreliable bootleg parts because of the short lifespan of the original 80's era electronics.

Bootlegs

Bootleg arcade games are cabinets that contain games that are illegally installed. Manufacturers do not provide technical support on bootlegs, so customers should always ask whether the arcade game in which they are interested is officially licensed. This can be difficult, as some retailers may not even be aware that they are selling bootleg models or outright lie about it. If someone tries to sell you a multi game machine that contains either Pacman, Donkey Kong, or both on it, the game is not officially licensed because Namco does not license these out. Every game sold at Dazadi.com is verified fully licensed, and has full support from the manufacturer on all technical issues.

Delivery Methods

Dazadi offers two methods of delivery for arcade systems: curbside and in home.
"Curbside delivery" means that the driver will deliver the arcade on the curb in front of the destination address, but will not carry it inside.
"In home delivery" means the driver will deliver the item to any spot inside of the destination address on the ground floor. Please note that there is an extra charge for every flight of stairs that the item needs to travel. If you require that the item ascend or descend more than two flights of stairs please call Customer Service. Because arcade games can weigh up to a few hundred pounds, we strongly recommend that arcade game customers choose the in home delivery option.
