No, I would not recommend this to a friend
The board is sturdy making it better than other electronic boards I have encountered. The problems are the metal separating the different numbers is too soft allowing the tips to dig into the metal instead of sliding to a number. And once in a while it won't count a number or count the correct number. I do believe this is a decent electronic board however, but i do believe if you want a good steel tipped board you can't have an electronic one. It would probably work just fine with plastic tipped darts.
