The ball forces you to get that elbow under the writst. It makes you release the ball absolutely from the middle finger (not off the index or ring finger) so that the shot is going absolutely straight at release. And you have to jump to get the ball up so that it comes down in a good arc into the basket. None of those straight-shot jumpers will allow the ball to go in the hoop. So it's great for improving your jump shot.
The other nice thing is that the big ball is suprisingly effective at improving dribbling. After using it, a regular ball feels like it's the size of a grapefruit, which makes you feel like you can do anything with it. My crossover move became almost instantly more effective. Same with dribbling through traffic. The regular ball feels so much more manueverable and easy to control. I wasn't expecting that.
Definitely a good training ball. If I were a coach, I'd order a bunch of them. I'd also order a bunch of very small basketballs.
