Birthday present for 4-year-old grandson.

Easy to setup except for one part which had incorrect directions. Part went on bottom of top pole, not bottom part of bottom pole! Also, the cap appeared too large and had to force it onto the pole. Overall, am very pleased with the product.

This product was perfect for my four year old and eight year old. Six foot rims are the perfect height for this age group. Easy to assemble and adjust. Quality product at a reasonable price.

This is a great goal for beginning players. I run a Upward basketball league and goals adjustable to the appropriate height for a preK players are hard to find. This one fit the bill and is working great for our league. The only drawback is that the rim is a little small for a 27" ball, a 25" or smaller ball would be a better choice for this goal, but those sizes are harder to find.

Was very difficult to set up, and in fact had to call company to get messed up piece resent. Seems like it will be a lot of fun for my 4 and 5 year old children.

This is EXACTLY what we needed for our 5 year old to really learn the game. The standard height hoops are hard to learn the art of shooting for someone who is so short, but the little tykes versions are just for 2-3 year olds. This hoop allows the child to learn the basics of basketball with the ability to be successful at shooting hoops by themselves. I predict that this will continue to be a great size hoop for him until he turns about 9 years old.

This was purchased for 6-year-old son who recently discovered he loves basketball. This is a good system for young kids. No need to spend any more money than this.The base can be adjusted for the child's level. I think this will work for us for a few years.
This may not be a good option for kids 12 and older. The product image makes it look short or small but it is neither. It is the percfect dimensions for younger kids.

I bought this for my 6 year old Christmas. Does take a little time to put together but it is easy to setup. The adjustment are great is low enough for my child and raises high enough as she grows. I do wish this unit came with wheels. If you have smaller kids from age 5 to 12 this is a great goal for them.

The only complaint or suggestion I have would be that it needs rollers on the bottom to be able to easily move it in and out of the garage. We live in a restricted community and can't have one so moving this around is not easy...

We've gone through two of these already, with both backboards breaking. The backboard only mounts to the pole at the bottom, which means that each time a ball hits the top half of the backboard, it bangs against the pole. Not only does this make for a noisy game of basketball, but after a while, it takes its toll on the backboard. Replacement backboards cost as much as the entire kit (which is why we have two, now both with broken backboards...).

If you do get a portable hoop, here's a good suggestion: Fill up the base with half water and half anti-freeze; when the weather turns cold, the water won't freeze and potentially crack the base.

I bought this hoop for my sons ages 10 and 9 to use in our basement. We have the rim set at 6 feet and they can shoot and dunk and have a blast. It was pretty easy to assemble (I did it myself with help from my husband on one step) and it is sturdy (but no hanging on the rim). We love it!

For those parents that are tired of replacing those plastic toddler hoops year after year this is a great, affordable alternative. Looks like a "real" adult sized hoop. My 3 year old son will be able to use this for the next decade or so...and the adults get a kick out of playing with it too!

Bought this for my 5 yr old. Good height for that age. Good quality but if you have kids 8 or up go for a standard size system as this is really for pre to 2nd grade kids.

This is a great starter hoop for the kids. My kids are 4 and 6, and they love it. The lowest setting was good for the 4 year old, and the 6 year old wanted it a 2nd from highest. The quality is good, and set-up was not difficult.

We bought this for my son's 6th birthday and it's perfect! He wanted a "real" hoop. This looks just like a grown-up hoop, but it's smaller, so he can actually make a basket. We have 3 boys (4, 6, 8) and they all love it! We bought 3 jr. size basketballs that fit through the hoop. They have spent hours outside with it. Once plus about the smaller size..it was rainy on my son's birthday (and 5 days afterward), so we set the hoop up in the garage, and the kids happily played out there until it dried up outside. It's definately not a professional hoop-sturdy enough for casual play, but probably wouldn't hold up against larger kids hanging on the hoop. It's great for lots of family fun. The only complaint is the directions on how to put it together-they were awful! Just use your gut and look at the pieces closely before putting them together and it makes sense.

Needed 3 of us to get it put together as putting the backboard on to the pole was fiddly but the instructions were clear and the rest of the process was very easy! My 7 year old loves to practice and his 15 year old brother has been seen shooting hoops with it too! It is great for beginners and smaller kids - the lower basket encourages those with limited skills! However if my son keeps his interest I will probably need to get a higher hoop in a year or two.
