Combining the fun experience of playtime and workout, you and your dog can easily be motivated to live a healthy lifestyle so both of you can enjoy its benefits. Dogs’ obedience will also be strengthened when you encourage them to perform various physical exercise routines with you. Because we care about you and your dearest pets, we’ve listed down some of the best exercise and fitness routines you can do with your furry pal:

1. Jogging

Find a safe and comfortable place that allows dogs and take a 30-minute to 1-hour jog. This is the most basic yet effective and helpful cardio workout. Don’t forget to bring a bottle of water and portable bowl so you and your dog can drink to avoid dehydration.

2. Swimming

Swimming is a low-impact exercise that you and your dog can enjoy. Going for a swim is an effective way to cool off during hot weather. Find a pet-friendly beach or backyard pool and encourage your dog to join you for a swim. If it’s your dog’s first time to go for a swim, it’s best to teach them the basics first. Keep in mind that not all dogs are natural swimmers, some breeds cannot swim at all without a floatation device. Never leave your dogs unattended in the water and don’t force them to immediately learn how to swim.
